Somerset Against The Badger Cull added 2 new photos.

It’s #TauntonWildlifeWeekend and there are lots of walks and activities planned around the Taunton area. We have yet to see badgers mentioned at these events, but we live in hope. Somerset Wildlife Trust is continuing to avoid the subject and several membership stands we encounter have no photos of our badgers except for the Wildlife Trusts logo!

Please remember that the killing begins again soon and will be rolling-out further again this September. However, there is ALWAYS something you can do to help protect badgers in Somerset.

The work these people are doing, mapping setts and anything else they see (snares, traps etc) is absolutely vital to saving badgers come the Autumn. Monitoring continues, gathering intelligence ahead of the cull which begins again in approx fifteen weekends time. Persecution continues however so this is an all year round battle.

Wherever you live in Somerset the badger cull could be coming to you this September so get in touch to find out how you can protect badgers where you live. We can teach you how to sett survey so you know where your local badgers live. If they come to your garden, do you know where their sett is? This could be targeted.

There are now groups set-up across the county who would be only too happy to hear from you. Even if you can't get out physically there is still lots you can do to raise awareness. Get in touch.
