Ban slapped on ‘ineffective, expensive and cruel’ badger culling in Bath after narrow council vote.
Permission for badger culls on land controlled by Bath and North East Somerset Council will be refused after a motion was narrowly voted through.
Labour’s councillor Joe Rayment proposed the move, arguing scientific evidence showed the killing of badgers to prevent the spread of bovine tuberculosis to cattle is ‘ineffective, expensive and cruel’.
