This publication has been produced by Somerset Badger Group and provides information for farmers considering taking part in the badger cull.
George Eustice (Farming Minister) has publicly stated that “reductions in TB cases in Somerset and Gloucestershire are evidence that our strategy is delivering results.”
What he failed to disclose is that this statement is based on a flawed interpretation of the data.
The fact is that the prevalence of bTB in cattle is now almost exactly the same as it was in 2013, prior to the culling of badgers. http://bit.ly/prevalencesep18
What the Government and cull companies will not openly publicise is how many participating farms are still subject to herd breakdowns, despite six years of culling.
Without this disclosure, how much confidence can you have that culling will work on your farm?
